Brent Is Up 79% on a Year
Brent crude traded at $110.74 a barrel on Wednesday morning, down from $112.85 a day earlier but 5.9% higher than a month ago. A year ago it cost $61.75. The price had fallen to $73.74 on 24 June, when tankers started moving through the Strait of Hormuz again, and climbed back above $100 in September as Gulf supply tightened. This week attacks on Saudi energy sites and a sharp drop in tanker traffic through Hormuz kept it there.
Brent is back above $110
Drivers pay the difference. AAA put the average for regular gasoline at $4.33 a gallon in September, a record for the month and 50 cents above the previous September high, set in 2023. Diesel averaged $6.31 a gallon on Wednesday, down from $6.51 a month earlier. Crude makes up more than half of the price of each gallon. On 8 October regular cost $4.36, against $3.12 a year earlier, and this is the first October on record with the national average above $4.

American wells are pumping flat out. The Energy Information Administration expects US crude output to average a record 13.8 million barrels a day this year, half of it from the Permian Basin, Even so, Washington has agreed to buy finished diesel from Russia. In early October American drivers burned 8.76 million barrels of gasoline a day, and gasoline stocks stood at 204.7 million barrels.
Russia’s First Diesel Cargo for America Sails Today
Russia lifted its ban on diesel exports on 9 October. It had stopped shipments to cover shortages at home after drone strikes on its refineries. The first tanker for the United States, carrying 40,000 tonnes, is due to leave today, Al Jazeera reported. President Trump has described a deal for 300,000 tonnes at first, 500,000 tonnes in November and 1 million tonnes after that, about 1.8 million tonnes in all.
The refineries are the weak point. Ukraine’s Defence Ministry said on 4 October that its strikes had disabled more than 51% of Russia’s refining capacity, up from 45% two weeks earlier, a figure no outside body has confirmed. Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said Russia would meet America’s needs “to the extent of our capabilities.” Steve Witkoff, the American envoy, said tankers would follow “one after another” and that Russia could also supply fertiliser in large quantities.
The video at the top of this letter argues that one company could make the oil lever useless. The tanker sails today. The company is in the video.
Arabica Is Up 10% in a Month
Arabica futures traded near $3.04 a pound on Thursday, about 10% higher than a month ago, though 26% below a year ago. Certified stocks in ICE warehouses have fallen to about 240,000 bags, the lowest in nearly 27 years, and traders worry that Brazilian beans will not reach them before the December contract expires.
Shoppers have felt it. Coffee prices in the September inflation report were 7.1% higher than a year earlier, and Toast put the median price of a regular hot coffee at $3.79, up from $3.54. Colombia’s growers expect 12.2 million bags this year, down from 13.67 million in 2025. Brazil had a strong harvest, but a firmer real gives its farmers less reason to sell, and traders flag quality problems in parts of the crop.
Coffee costs more at every step
Washington spared coffee when it raised tariffs. Since July most Colombian goods have paid an extra 12.5% duty in the United States, but coffee and cocoa are exempt. Colombia’s growers have sold their beans here under one name for decades: the Doyle Dane Bernbach agency created Juan Valdez for their federation in 1958 to sell Colombian coffee to Americans.
Green Coffee Company says it owns about 45 farms in Colombia and holds the North American rights to Juan Valdez products. It is raising money under Regulation A, and its offer, with the offering circular, is below.

The Farm Behind the Cup
In 1992, Starbucks went public at a split-adjusted price of approximately $0.27.

Today, its stock trades above $108.

That’s a gain of roughly 40,000%.

Put another way…

That turns $100 into $40,000…

$500 into 200,000 dollars…

And a tiny stake of $1,000 into almost half a million dollars.

But unless you invested in Starbucks back in 1992, that opportunity is already gone.

The bigger question is:

Where could coffee’s next major growth story come from?
The Farm Behind the Cup
The global coffee market is projected to reach approximately $380 billion by 2033. And its next breakout company may not be built around thousands of cafés.

It may begin with the farms…

And that’s the opportunity that could dwarf Starbucks returns.

Click here to see what a $1,000 stake buys today – and why this company believes the next big coffee story is moving from farm to shelf.

Meet Green Coffee Company.

It owns approximately 45 Colombian farms and 10 million coffee trees.

It also holds exclusive third-party rights to Juan Valdez coffee products across U.S. and Canadian retail and institutional channels.

Those products are already reaching Target, Walgreens and thousands of North American retail locations.

And individual investors can now own a stake while the company is still private.

No accreditation required.
Juan Valdez is a licensed brand. The Juan Valdez parties are not sponsors of this offering.

Tesla’s Margins Rebounded. Its Profit Fell 43%
Tesla reported third-quarter revenue of $28.05 billion after the close on Wednesday, flat on a year earlier and in line with forecasts. Adjusted earnings of 48 cents a share beat the 45-cent consensus. Net income fell 43% to $787 million and operating income 56% to $718 million, so the operating margin shrank to 2.6% from 5.8% a year earlier.
Tesla's third quarter
The car business did better. Gross margin before regulatory credits rose to 18.1%, from 16.3% in the second quarter and 15.4% a year earlier. Spending is where the profit went: capital expenditure more than doubled to $4.73 billion as Tesla builds out AI computing, and free cash flow fell to $1.53 billion from $3.99 billion. Tesla still holds $45.4 billion of cash and investments. Energy revenue fell 16% to $2.88 billion even though storage deployments rose 10%. Active Full Self-Driving subscriptions rose 67% to 1.74 million, and the robotaxi fleet, which added the Cybercab in Austin a month before the quarter ended, has driven nearly 2 million miles with no one in the driver’s seat.
Nvidia, the chipmaker Jeff Brown says he picked in 2016, closed at a record $238.90 on 5 October, worth about $5.7 trillion and nearly 25% above its late-July low. Brown now says Musk is about to create demand for one small company’s patented AI technology, and he puts a date on it: 11 November. The company is in his note.

Elon's One-Stock Plan
Editor’s Note: Jeff Brown is the former tech executive who picked Nvidia in 2016 before it jumped 37,000% higher. He’s now recommending another AI stock that’s the same size Nvidia was 10 years ago. He calls it “Elon Musk’s One Stock Retirement Plan” because he believes Elon Musk is about to create massive demand for this company’s patented technology. Click here to see the details or read more below.

Make your calendar…

By November 11, I believe Elon Musk is going to help trigger a historic rally in what could be…

“The Only AI Stock You Need to Retire.”

This little-known company has developed a technology…

That can produce intelligence up to 1,000 times FASTER than regular AI.

It’s the same size Nvidia was 10 years ago…

Before shares skyrocketed 37,800%...

And while I can’t guarantee you’ll become a millionaire...

That was enough to turn $5,000 into an entire retirement nest egg of $1,895,000.

I call this opportunity….

Because I believe Elon Musk is about to accelerate the AI revolution faster than ever…

Creating massive demand for this company’s patented technology.

Again, I believe this might be the only stock you need to retire.

We have so much to look forward to,

Jeff Brown, Founder & CEO, Brownstone Research

P.S. If I could buy only one stock, this would be it… it might just be the perfect tech stock.

It’s a leader in an AI breakthrough that’s protected by 150 patents…

It’s a small company, unknown to most people… still in the initial phase of exponential growth…

Plus, it has a near term catalyst that could send shares skyrocketing… starting November 11.
