Inflation came in tame yesterday and short-term rates fell. The thirty-year did not move at all. That is the number worth your attention this morning.

YIELDSYesterday’s close
Inflation Cooled. The Thirty-Year Didn’t Budge.
July CPI rose just 0.1% with core at 0.2%. The two-year yield fell more than two basis points to 4.1738%. The thirty-year held at 5.2371%.
The ten-year, which prices mortgages and car loans, eased a single basis point to 4.6704%. So the short end moved on the news, the middle barely moved, and the long end ignored it entirely.
That is a message. Two-year yields track what traders think the Fed does next; thirty-year yields track what they think inflation looks like over decades. A tame monthly print changed the first view and left the second untouched.
Two ends, two answers
Treasury yields after the inflation report.
Here’s why it lands on your desk: the thirty-year is still sitting at levels last seen in 2007. If you hold long-dated bond funds, the cooling inflation story has not reached your holdings, and the bond market is telling you why.

Inside the Fence at Kennedy Space Center
Video
A tiny startup does not accidentally end up inside the secure perimeter of Kennedy Space Center.

Right now there is a small, publicly traded company operating a specialized fleet of launch vehicles just steps away from SpaceX and Blue Origin.

They have a special operating agreement that allows them to use a multi-billion-dollar federal launch facility for just $500.

It is no coincidence.

My private intelligence contact tracked the money and found out exactly why this tiny company was granted this kind of elite access.

They have built a launch system that every rocket company on earth needs.

A system that cuts fuel costs by 90% and allows for multiple launches in a single day.

The government knows exactly how valuable this is…

That is why they let them inside the gates.

Most retail investors have never heard of this company.

The stock is currently sitting under $5.

They are about to cross their final licensing milestone, and historical data shows their next valuation could hand early investors a 997% gain.

You can wait until this company is on the front page of the financial news…

Or you can get in while they are still a secret.

EARNINGSAfter the bell
Cisco Beat and Fell 3%. Cerebras Missed and Fell 14%.
Cisco delivered strong AI-driven earnings with gross margin of 66.3% against a 66% consensus. The stock dropped anyway.
Cerebras had no such ambiguity: second-quarter revenue of $180 million against the $194 million expected, and the shares tumbled as much as 19% in premarket. Coherent lost roughly 3% despite guidance that beat.
Applied Materials reports after today’s close, with adjusted earnings of $3.42 expected on sales near $9.02 billion. It is the last significant read on AI equipment demand this season.

The distinction matters more than the direction. Cerebras fell because the business underperformed. Cisco fell because the price had already assumed excellence. Those are different problems with very different timelines.

LISTINGSReported overnight
Anthropic Could List in October at a Two Trillion Dollar Valuation
The Financial Times reports investors are targeting a record valuation, with a listing possible as early as October.
If it happens at that level it would be the largest listing ever attempted, arriving barely two months after SpaceX went public in June at $135 a share — a stock now trading well below its offer price with roughly a third of its float sold short.
Elsewhere the AI trade held up. Super Micro rose 19% on strong guidance, Dell nearly 10%, Micron about 5%, and Nebius surged 34%. The S&P closed at 7,748.50, the Nasdaq at 26,588.49.
The lesson from June is worth carrying into October: a record valuation at listing is the seller’s best day, not the buyer’s. The lockup expiry that follows is printed in the prospectus from the start.

PPI landed at 8:30 this morning, forecast at plus 0.2% monthly. Early reads suggest it came in slightly below expectations, which would extend the disinflation picture from yesterday.
